Contract Negotiations:

SportsWest is a well-respected and established firm having negotiated more than $150 million dollars in NFL contracts. Notable contracts include the 1998 Ted Washington Buffalo Bills contract, and Alex Molden 1996 1st round rookie
contract.

The Washington contract was the first in NFL history when the team wasforced by arbitration to remove the Franchise designation thus allowing SportsWest to negotiate the richest contract in the history of the Buffalo Bills. The contract was five years 27.3 million dollars of which $6.5 million was upfront and 70% of the contract is payable in the first three years of the contract.

The Molden rookie contract was negotiated for the 11th pick in the first round of the NFL draft. The contract was a seven-year $10.1 million dollar deal "voidable" after five years. Effectively, the contract, through the voidable clause (player contract is shortened in length to 5 years due to play time) is a 5 yr. $7.6 million dollar deal ranking it comparably to the dollars paid to the 7th pick in the 1996 NFL draft. Moreover, this contract has served as a model for agents representing first round draft
picks selected in the 9th through 14th slots in each draft since 1996.

At SportsWest, we have developed a reputation for being tough but fair. Unlike many sports agents, we negotiate by utilizing our vast knowledge of football. Our understanding of football, and keen business acumen make us uniquely qualified to create winning contracts for our clients.
